Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi is poised to make his 20th appearance for Tianjin TEDA when they face Shanghai SIPG in a Chinese Super League clash on Sunday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Mikel who has made six appearances ,scoring a goal and providing one assist so far this term, will be facing his former Chelsea teammate, Oscar and he is looking forward to the reunion.
“Looking forward to Shanghai and facing my old friend and team mate @oscar8!,” Mikel tweeted on Friday.
Oscar has provided six assists so far this season for Shanghai SIPG. Tianjin TEDA are ninth in the CSL table with eight points from six league games.
Mikel’s compatriot, Odion Ighlao, will look to return to scoring form in his seventh start for Changchun Yatai when they play away to Guizhou Zhichen on Saturday.
Ighalo has failed to score in his last three games. He last scored against Beijing Renhe over a month ago.
Changchun Yatai are 13th in the table with five points from six games.
