The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested seven suspects for allegedly raping minors various towns of the state and a man for defiling boy 8.
Kebi State Commissioner of Police Mr. Agunbiade Oluyemi Lasore, at a press briefing on the achievements of his Command from May to June, disclosed that the suspected rapists perpetrated their nefarious acts in Argungu, Kamba, Masama village in Gwandu LGA, Hadari village, Bunza town, Kardi village in Birnin Kebbi LGA and Gwandu town.
The CP said the suspects lured most of their victims to uncompleted buildings where they had canal knowledge with them.
“On May 1, Musa Abubakar of Argungu town, Argungu LGA, lured Fatima Hassan, 10, into his room located at Tudun Wada area of Argungu and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.
” On May 30, Kabiru Hassan,28, of Kamba town in Dandi LGA, deceitfully took Khadija Usman Sa’aidu, 8, to an uncompleted building and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.
“June 3, Mu’awuya Mohammed of Masama village, Gwandu LGA trespassed into the residence of Abubakar Usman of the same address and forcefully had sexual intercourse with his daughter, Sherifat Abubakar,12.

” On June 14 Shafiu Garba and Kasimu Muhammad of Hadani village, LGA conspired among themselves, attacked one Aisha Mamman, aged,14, of the same address and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
“On June 12, Sa’adu Haruna of Futua town, Katsina State, deceived a victim, Amina Muktar,9; took her to an uncompleted building in Bunza town with the intension to buy sachet water from her and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.
” On June 17, 2020, Abbas Abubakar, 22, of Rasha area of Bunza, lured A’ishatu Aliyu,3, to a Mosque and had carnal knowledge of her.
“On June 23, Bello Yahyah (aka Juli), dubiously, took Nabila Alhaji Umaru of Kardi village, Birnin Kebbi LGA, to an uncompleted building and had sexual intercourse with him.
” On June 25 , Aliyu Hamidu of Gwandu town was arrested for having sexual intercourse against the order of nature of Haliru Hamidu, 8, of the same father”.
The Commissioner of Police said all the suspects have confessed to the crimes and they would be charged to Court .
” At this juncture,I want to state without equivocation that, I am highly miffed with the incessant cases of rape and other sexual and gender-based violence, which are barbaric in nature and thereby warn the perpetrators of such crimes to fear God and desist forthwith or face the full wrath of the law if arrested “.
