Ahead of today’s 2019 FIFA women world Cup draw in France,Super Falcons goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi says Nigeria must avoid a difficult group if they are to go far in the competition but insists early preparation can get the team over the line.
The African champions are placed in pot four with Argentina, Jamaica and Chile alongside other African representatives (South Africa and Cameroon) which they are likely to fall into the den of the superpowers.
The Rivers Angels star said African champions aren’t going to the mundial to make number but to show how strong they are.
“The World Cup is for the best teams and if we want to show our class as a formidable team, we must be ready to compete against them,” Oluehi said.
She however, hopes the Thomas Dennerby’s side are not drawn in a group of death.
“It’ s always good to have a favourable draw, but you have to be ready to face what is in front of you.“
“We are looking forward to the draw and the preparation for the competition as well.”
The draw will hold in Paris, France capital, with the 24 qualified teams expected to know their opponents.
