Kebbi State Police Command has arrested a five-man drug peddling syndicate with 18 cartons of diasaparm and three cartons of tramadol.
The state commissioner of police, Mr. Ibrahim M. Kabiru, made this known while briefing newsmen on the activities of his command yesterday.
He explained that acting on a tip-off, his men smashed a syndicate of drug peddlers in possession of 18 cartons of diasaparm drugs and another three cartons of tramadol tablets.
Kabiru explained that the tip-off led to the arrest of Abdulwahab, of Yauri town, with three cartons of tramadol, while five men in possession of 18 cartons of diasaparm, whose names were given as Ajamma, Igwello, Nneli, Ohamchi and Onyema, were arrested.
He added that the investigation was still ongoing regarding the suspects’ activities.
Kabiru said that, as soon as the preliminary investigation is complete, all the suspects and the exhibits would be transferred to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further action.
