Four persons have been confirmed dead by the Police in a gas explosion at at Aba by Court Road, Sabon Gari Quarters, Kano State.
It was gathered that at about 1 am, there was a loud sound of suspected explosion at a building at house number 1, Aba by Court Road, Sabon Gari, opposite Winners kids Academy and the building collapsed .
According to Kano State Public Relations Officer (PPRO),SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa,”on the receipt of the report, Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, Mr. Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, immediately led the command’s combined teams of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Chemical Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defence (EOD-CBRN) and Operation Puff Adder to the scene at a building.
“Scene of the suspected explosion that led to a building collapse was cordoned up and four victims ,three males and one female, including a Wielder, Mr. Ejike Vincent,were removed and rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where a Medical Doctor certified them dead.
“Preliminary Forensic analysis revealed a suspected Gas cylinder explosion with the recovery of Chemicals. Rescue mission is in progress”.
