Nigeria’s Usman, Babatunde Target African Titles At 14TH GOtv Boxing Night

Nigeria’s Waidi “Skoro” Usman will hope to be second time time lucky when he takes on Michael “Shaka” Nyawade of Kenya for the African Boxing Union (ABU) featherweight title at the 14th GOtv Boxing Night,  Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The bouts were announced during a press conference by the organisers in Lagos on Tuesday. The 14th edition will take place inside the Indoor Sports Hall, National Stadium, Lagos on April, 14.
Usman’s last attempt for the ABU featherweight title was against Edward Kakembo of Uganda in 2015 which the Nigerian lost via a unanimous decision.
Another international title fight is the West African Boxing Union (WABU) welterweight bout which will be between Rilwan ‘Babyface’ Babatunde and Djossou “Agoy” Basile of the Republic of Benin.
Other bouts on the night will see Kazeem “Ijoba” Badmus take on Rilwan “Real One” Oladosu for the national lightweight title, Sulaimon Adeosun will confront Ramon Adedoyin in a national light heavyweight challenge, Chukwuebuka “Wise King” Ezewudo will be up against Kazeem Nofiu in a national welterweight challenge contest, while Prince “Lion” Nwoye will square up to ABU lightweight champion Oto “Joe Boy” Joseph.
Also, Abiodun “Finito” Afini will take on Ramon “Hyena” Razak in a national cruiserweight challenge bout.
The best boxer at the event will go home with N1million cash prize and the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy.
As usual, 50 GOtv decoders will be given out to 50 lucky fans via a raffle draw.
During the press conference, four best dressed boxers which include Afini, Babatunde, Oladosu and Nwoye were each given GOtv decoders.
