Super Eagles and Former AS Monaco Left back Elderson Echiejile is close to sealing a deal with a new club after terminating his contract at Monaco.
The former Bendel Insurance player who terminated his contract with AS Monaco in the summer also reveals that he is close to agreeing on a deal with a club he wouldn’t disclose the identity now.
“Yeah, a deal is close but I am keeping my options open. A deal could be signed sooner than you think,” he told CSN.
Echiejile also stressed that Nigeria have enough talent at their disposal to beat Libya over two legs in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Mediterranean Knights.
The 30-year-old defender was left out of the Super Eagles’ squad for the doubleheader against Libya expressed confidence that the team will be back in AFCON after missing out on the last two editions.
“We are currently third in the group and I think we can upstage them, winning over two legs.
“The team is self-motivated by one thing which is the hunger to qualify for the tournament which we’ve missed the last two editions.”
