Super Eagles defender Uche Agbo was in action for Standard Liege who kicked off their Belgian Championship play-offs campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Sporting on Friday night.
The winner of the Belgian play-offs will be crowned league champions and qualify automatically for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
After being frustrated for most of the game, Standard Liege eventually got the breakthrough thanks to Edmilson Junior in the 84th minute.
Standard Liege have temporarily gone top of the six-team championship play-offs round on three points.
Their next play-offs game comes up next week away to Genk.
The other three teams also involved in the play-offs are Anderlecht, Club Brugge and Gent that parade Nigerian trio Moses Simon, Anderson Esiti and Samuel Kalu.
