Agu says Eagles goalkeepers will get reminders on free kicks focus

Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu has stated that goalkeepers of the national team will continue to get reminders on how to ensure they get better handling of free kicks situations when they arrive in the future.
Nigeria’s AFCON 2019 quest was truncated by a late free kick from Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez at the recently concluded AFCON in Egypt.
Agu speaking on preventing a reoccurrence of such in the future in a chat gathered by www.Cornerstonenewsng.comsays this will be consciously brought to the goalkeepers awareness on how best to take charge of free kicks situations whenever it arises in the course of a game.
He said the basic thing to note is to ensure eye contact with the ball from the point it was dropped to the point it was kicked.
“In the near future when we have that kind of situation, what we need to do as we continue to advocate is that you form your wall and ensure you’re in contact with the ball and also you take your action the moment the ball is kicked, them you react because you can see where the ball is going to.”
