Executive member of the Nigeria Basketball Federation in communication with FIBA Rtd. Col Sam Ahmedu has stated that the NBBF has been talking with a potential sponsor over the need to take over the sponsorship of the league so as to also be able to draw up finishing lines on the sketches for the league.
Ahmedu speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the league will definitely have a change in the format again and very much in view although no definitive timeline as of yet on the exact date for the commencement of the league. He however assured that there will definitely be a league this year.
“It’s coming there is no date yet, we are in discussion with a sponsor and we are having a new format. Abridge league or not it depends on the number of games and we know the number of games we want to play and there is the program for it.”
The Nigeria Basketball league could once again be heading for another crash league program which produced continental representatives like it was done last season within two days.
