Ajiboye: Plateau United Must Be Ready For USM Alger Pressure

By Adeboye Amosu:

Plateau United goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye has admitted that the team must be ready for a tough test against USM Alger in Tuesday’s CAF Confederation Cup play-off round, second leg fixture, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The Nigerian champions hold a slim 2-1 advantage going into the game at the Stade 5 Juillet and will need to be at their best against the Red and Black who came close to snatching a draw in the first leg at the Agege Stadium.

Kennedy Boboye’s men suffered a 4-2 defeat against Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel in their last away game on the continent but Ajiboye is keen for the team to avoid same fate this time around.

“I must admit this is going to be a tough test for us. USM made things difficult for us in the first leg and we are not expecting anything different this time around,” Ajiboye told Completesportsnigeria.com.

“We know from the game against Etoile du Sahel what to expect and we must be ready to withstand the pressure right from the blast of the whitsle.

“The advantage from the first leg is a slim margin but it’s good we didn’t lose the game. We just have to believe in ourselves and fight hard on the pitch.

“Hopefully, the result will be positive at the end of the day and we can progress further in the competition.”

The overall winner of the contest will proceed to the group stages of the competition.
