Super Eagles Goalkeeper Coach Alloy Agu has stated that Daniel Akpeyi Kept Nigeria in the game against Burundi before Ighalo netted the goal that gave the Eagles the needed three points in the opening match of the AFCON competition in Egypt.

Alloy Agu told brila.net exclusively via a phone call all the way from Alexandria Egypt in a post-match interview that the technical crew unanimously came into the conclusion to make Daniel Akpeyi Nigeria’s first choice at the opening game against Burundi

 

“After seeing a series of form and fitness he exhibited during the training sessions before the game against Burundi, we concluded he is the man for the job.

 

”You can see that we always advocate for the best in the team, the choice of making Daniel Akpeyi the number one goalkeeper was a collective one by the entire coaching crew, Agu told brila.
