Alimi keen to make leave NPFL Legacy

Ridwan Alimi will hope to feature prominently for MFM FC this season in the Nigeria professional football league and says he wants to leave a mark.

Ridwan, who is a sibling of former Lobi Stars striker Sikiru Alimi, is a fast rising defender whose style has been likened to some big names.

He made his Professional Football debut in the Nigeria National League (NNL ) with AS Racine in 2018, before signing for Ivorian Ligue 1 side, Lys Sassandra FC and played till 2020.

Ridwan has since returned to Nigeria to team up with MFM FC but is yet to make his debut for the club this season.

In a chat with brila.net, the Center half explained why he’s yet to feature in a game for the Tony Bolus side.

“Nothing really, every player has his own time and surely my time will come and I’m eagerly waiting for the opportunity to play,” he told brila.net.

His elder brother Sikiru was an household name in the NPFL, before moving to North Africa.

He said he’s proud of what his brother achieved, but he’s definitely writing his own story.

“You know he was a well know goal poacher before he left the NPFL for greener pastures, ” he told brila.net.

“Not at all he has done well flying the flag high and making a name for himself and I believe I’m on the right track too and he’s been really helpful sharing ideas about league,” he said.

Ridwan will be hoping to make his Nigerian top flight league bow today when MFM FC trade tackles with Dakkada FC.
