An Islamic cleric, 3 others arrested with a human skull in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested an Islamic cleric ,Olasheu ,and three others have been arrested in possession of a human skull.

Trouble started for the suspects when Police team from Agbara division who were on routine crime prevention patrol of the area accosted two men on a motorcycle at Kofedoti area of Agbara .
The men, Ayeniromo and Kolade were asked to come down for a search and during the searching , a human skull was discovered in a sack found on them.

They were promptly arrested and taken to Agbara Divisional headquarters where the Divisional Police officer , CSP Adegbite Omotayo personally interrogated them and they claimed that the human skull was given to them by Osanyinbi to deliver to the Islamic cleric.
They led the DPO to the house of the man who gave them the skull who in turn led the police to the cleric.

Police public relations officer in the State, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi said : ” The cleric has made confessional statement that he actually requested for the skull which Osanyinbi promised to get for him at the rate of N25,000 and N1,000 was paid for the commercial motorcycle operator who would deliver the skull to him. He stated further that the skull was needed ritual “.

He said the State Commissioner of Police , Mr .Ahmed Iliaysu has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to Special Anti Robbery Squad ( SARS ) for further investigation and prosecution.
