Balogun enjoys learning religious songs while on Eagles duty

Brighton & Hove Albion defender, Leon Balogun Says he enjoys the atmosphere of the national team so much that he quickly adapted to the team’s traditions of singing religious songs before matches.

The former Fortuna Dusseldofr, Darmstadt and SV Mainz of Germany star was born in West Berlin but decided to play for Nigeria and made his debut against Mexico back in 2014.

Balogun admitted he was not used to singing religious songs during his growing up days in Germany but said he has adapted well to the tradition he met since 2014.

“God is a very very big thing in Nigeria and for the players also. In Nigeria, it’s like a tradition, and they start to sing the song.”

”I don’t know most of the songs from Germany, though I got to know some few words I enjoy it very much.”

”Sometimes I get to sing along and clap, but I don’t know the complete songs. I always get hyped, and I always enjoy it, because I’m a camp guy”.
