Former Rangers star Alex Rae has been hugely impressed by Leon Balogun, praising the Scottish club’s recruitment strategy in the process.
Balogun put up a commanding display at the heart of defense for Rangers last Saturday in their 1-0 defeat of Celtic.
The Nigerian international has generally impressed for The Gers since joining from Brighton last July and a former player has pointed out.
“You know the thing about Balogun, when you consider this guy came into Rangers on a Bosman,” Alex Rae said on Rangers’s Ten10Podcast.
“Some of the recruitment for Rangers has been nothing short of tremendous.
“When you look at the valuation of these guys, I would say there’s so much value in the team as opposed to four or five years ago.
“Balogun has been a terrific, outstanding addition because he brings power and pace to the backline,” he said.
Balogun has made 19 appearances for Rangers in all competitions this season as the Scottish giants surge to a first league title since 2010-11 and are in the knockout stages of the Europa League.
