A Catholic priest, Fr. Gerard Tanko has advised Christians to always be conscious of the fact that the devil is not happy that they made it to the New year.
Fr. Tanko, also cautioned that Christians should be more prayerful than ever before so as not to partake in the evil plans of the devil.
Tanko, who was speaking during a homily on the New year day at the Society of St. Paul, IJu, Lagos, said: ” We thank God that we have made it to the New year, but be conscious of the fact that the devil is not happy with you. He is making serious plans on how to attack you,because he is a strategist. The devil is real so, don’t doubt it . That is the reason we are going to rely on God this year ,because only him has the power to stop the devil “.
Tanko told the congregation that the face of God would definitely shine on those who trusted in him that the and that as Catholic faithful were beginning the year with the celebration of the solemnity of Virgin Mary, the mother of and the world peace day: ” The two celebration should be taken seriously as they are connected .
According to him, It was quite logical and good to start the year by celebrating the woman who brought change to the world and the Prince of peace, Jesus Christ He said after the celebration , the joy of the Lord would overflow.
He said only those who follow certain steps would enjoy the joy of the year, adding that the first step was to pray that the protection: ” We need divine protection against demonic attacks.The devil is real. The demons are the falling day: The devil as I understand is the best strategist, you can’t beat him to that. He knows how to manipulate thingsoverflow.and that is why you strongly need God’s protection. God protected you all through the year 2018, but I want you to know that the devil ( old Harry) is not happy that you made it to the New year. He is planning to attack you and sow
He continued that the ” second step is to pray for divine encounter. You need intimate Communion with God and that will change your life. We all need Damascus experience to make it. Soul ( Paul) met it on his way to Damascus that the Christians. He had a divine encounter with Jesus and his life was never the same. The third prayer is divine mercy or told the reconciliation with so, We have fallen short of the glory of God in so many ways. We are sinners no doubt, so we should ask for God’s mercy.
