Twenty- two -year old man who had gone to drink beer in a joint has been killed by the owner of the beer parlour at the Alausa area of Ikeja, Lagos.
The suspect, Obioma Denis, 54, said he stabbed his customer to death as he annoyed him by smoking Indian hemp in his joint.

The suspect who is detained at the homicide section of the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (SCIID), Panti Street, Yaba, said: “I regret my action because the deceased was a young man that I know. I stabbed him in anger. I got three telephone calls from an unknown number on January 22, which is the day of the unfortunate incident. I rushed to my joint located at number 17 Jogosimi street, Alausa Ikeja, which is opposite my residence, only to see the deceased, Ifeanyi, and two others smoking weed suspected to be Indian hemp in front of my bar. I pleaded with them to stop smoking in front of my shop, but they refused.

“I was angry as I grabbed the chair they were sitting on and threw it inside my shop. While I was inside, one of the guys, Emeka, started destroying my electronic appliances. He smashed my television. To save others of my belongings, I pushed him out of my shop. The next thing I saw was that Ifeanyi grabbed a beer bottle and smashed it on my head. I ran into the inner part of the shop where we prepare food. I grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Ifeanyi on his chest.

“I regret my action, because Ifeanyi was like my younger brother. I contributed money when his father died three years ago. It was uncontrollable anger that pushed me to kill him”.
