Boxing: Nigerian Boxer Chinedu Okeke to Fight Michael Hamilton For LBF

HBE Light Middleweight Intercontinental Champion,  Chinedu Okoke will be up against a United States of America’s veteran naval officer, Prince Shawn Michael Hamilton, in a bid to add HBE Middleweight International title to his Lightweight title.

According to a release from the promoter, The bout will be staged Dr. IIfeanyi Ubah Stadium in Nnewi, Anambra state, on December 30, 2018. will be partly sponsored by Capital Oil and Gas, owned by Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah.

 

Meanwhile, Director of Heritage Productions, Samuel Opara said that the Senegal based Nigerian boxer will enter the ring again since July following his victory over Senegal’s Abdulkareem Ba to earn the intercontinental championship.

 

The promoters added that LBF (Legend Boxing Foundation), one of the world’s sanctioning boxing association, with promotional and other incentives at stake for the eventual winner between the Nigerian and his American challenger.

 

While commenting on the fight, Okeke said he has prepared for his challenger, expressing full confidence of beating Hamilton.

 

“There is no fear because this is all that we know how to do. I am looking forward to the fight with high optimism,” he said. Okeke hails from Nnewi in South East Nigeria.

 

On his part, Dr. Ubah said that “this is a welcome development for African Boxing which Heritage Entertainment is poised to redefine.”
