Former Manchester City and Barcelona Midfielder Yaya Touré’s time at Olympiacos has come to an abrupt end after the Greek club terminated his contract.
According to Marca, the former Manchester City star failed to impress manager Pedro Martins in the five matches that he played for the club in his second stint.
The 35-year-old Ivorian midfielder left City at the end of last season and signed for the Superleague Greece side in September.
The former Monaco and Barcelona player has picked up multiple titles across his club career, including the Champions League and three Premier League titles.
Touré also won the Africa Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast, as well as being named the African Footballer of the Year in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
He was a fan-favourite player during his time at City, though he slowly fell down the pecking order towards the end of his time with the club and it was coupled with a turbulent relationship with manager Pep Guardiola.
