Burundi gaffer Niyonkuru admits Super Falcons are World Class

Burundi head coach Gustave Niyonkuru said he is very proud of his side’s performance despite losing 4-0 to Nigeria in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Niyonkuru had hope for a valiant display as Burundi went into the clash chasing a quarter-final ticket, however the hope was dashed within the first 30 minutes as Super Falcons raced to three goals lead.

The reigning Champions put the game beyond the debutants when Uchenna Kanu scored the fourth immediately after the restart.

In his post-math presser, the gaffer admitted that his side came into this match as the underdogs but with hope that they would leave everything on the field of play.

“We did our very best today. Nigeria are physically better than us and way more experienced,” Niyonkuru said.

“They have won this tournament a record nine times. That is massive. This is a very big moment for us to get all the experience possible that we can get,” the Burundi Coach explained.

The Swallows failed to pick a point in all group stage games played.
