Enyimba international of Aba midfielder Austine Oladapo, has admitted that his side first leg semi-final home loss to Raja Casablanca in the CAF Confederations Cup is the reason the People’s Elephants missed out in the final.
Enyimba was beaten 2-1 in the reversed fixture far away in Morocco on Wednesday, a scoreline many considered a good result away from home, had Usman Abdallah boys managed to get managed to get a lone goal victory at home in the first leg of the encounter.
However, the Club’s influential midfielder Austine Oladapo echoed the same statement, while speaking to Cornerstonenewsng.com, Oladapo said the first leg home defeat hunted his side.
“The first leg loss was a very mistake on our part, that loss in Aba cost us a place in the final. If we had won the first leg, we would have been through to the final by now. But that’s football, we played very well and we are proud of our achievement”.
After failing to reach the final of CAF Confederations Cup. Enyimba Will now shift attention to the Nigeria professional football league season which kick-off next month.
