Former Super Eagles Captain John Mikel Obi led his Club Stoke to another win in the English Skybet championship game against Rotherham United at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday.

Mikel started the game as captain again with Ryan Shawcross still out injured and he went on to give another inspiring performance for the team.

He was at the heart of the midfield dictating play and also protecting the back four at the same time.

The Potters recorded a 1 – 0 win over their visitors, with Angus Gunn setting up James McClean for the only goal of the game in the 27th minutes.

With the win, Stoke City has now bounced back from midweek’s 2 – 0 defeat and will be in great shape ahead of their trip to Vicarage Road on Wednesday where they’ll take on Watford.

Michael O’Neil’s side moved up to 8th in the table with 15 points after four wins, three draws, and two defeats from nine games.
