Card reader failure: Okowa pacifies voters to be patience

Ubulu Clan hails Okowa on projects execution, felicitate with him

Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has called on Deltans to exercise patience with the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ) over failing card reader machines in the state.
Many voters have been encountering serious challenges in voting in Delta State .

Governor Okowa who voted exactly 10 am at word 2 , Unit 3 , in Afor Secondary School , Owa -Alero, Ika North East , told the voters to be patience as he has contacted the authority concerned to rectify the problem :Really , I have received lots of phone calls from different pooling stations on the failure of card reader voting machine and I have made calls to appropriate authorities and they are doing something about it . That is why I am appealing to you to be patience . Still be patience with INEC”.
” I am so happy that my area is so peaceful. So far so good ,there is no violence .

I only got report from Akwuebunu area in Asaba on some complaints, but I have contacted the Commissioner of Police and the REC and they have waded into the matter. I understand that the electoral material did not arrive in some areas on time as there were no vehicles to convey them to the area. Some areas, there are not enough pooling stations. Some people are forced to trek about 8 kilometers before they can cast their votes . These are the challenges we are facing in the state , but I am appealing to the people of Delta not relent in their efforts to exercise their franchise. They should be peaceful and remain so even after the elections.

” I am so happy with the turn out of voters. As you all know, people no longer stay in the voting centres as they used to do. People vote and go home. In the olden days ,people used to wait after voting , but even at that ,you can see the marmot of people still voting and are trying to vote . I want your vote to reflect on the benefited in this administration.
