Christian Chukwu Recovers, Holds Thanksgiving Service

Former Super Eagles captain and coach, Christian Chukwu, attended a thanksgiving service on Sunday in appreciation of his speedy recovery after he underwent surgery at the Wellington Hospital in London.

According to The Punch, the thanksgiving service, which was held at the St. Philip Anglican Church, Obe, Enugu State, had top government officials and football personalities in attendance.

Chukwu’s medical condition was in a complicated state before the intervention of Femi Otedola, a business mogul, who spent a total of N36,635,000 on his treatment, travel and accommodation expenses.

“I am really very glad and appreciative of the goodwill to me in my hour of need,” Chukwu was quoted in a media statement made available to The Punch by Enugu Rangers.

“I can’t start naming all of them but God who made it possible for them to think positive of me shall pay them all in like manner.

“I thank all those that made out time to be here for the service. Sincerely, it can only be God.”
