Chukwueze, Omeruo and other Laliga players cleared to resume team training

Super Eagles star Chidozie Awaziem, Samuel Chukwueze, Kenneth Omeruo, and others will resume full training with their teammates on Monday for the first time in eight weeks.

The Spanish Football authority announced teams in the top two tiers can hold full training sessions from Monday, June 1st as they near possible restart of the league.

The campaign was suspended eight weeks ago following coronavirus pandemic which has ravaged the world.

Clubs have been training in the group of 14 players from last Monday and players are now cleared to resume team training together for the first time since the league was suspended on March 12.

“La Liga clubs will start collective training on Monday, June 1,” the league said in a statement on Saturday.

“The fourth phase, which starts next Monday, is the last step in this protocol that will lead to clubs starting competition on June 11.”

Laliga has been scheduled to resume on June 11 and the season is expected to be concluded on July 19.
