° says never again will a policeman be killed by hoodlums
Deputy Inspector General of Police Department of Research and Planning, DIG Moses Jitaboh has warned that never again would hoodlums be allowed to kill police officers.
Jitaboh who is also the theatre commander of Operation Restore Peace, South-South zone
gave the order when he visited Delta -State Police Command Headquarters, Asaba, also had an emotional and soul-searching lecture with officers and men of the command.
According to Spokesman of Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe:” The slogan “NEVER AGAIN” was echoed by all officers and was indeed a big morale booster to the confidence of the men, which signals an end to the killings of police officers and burning down of police facilities and public properties, he said the IGP Alkali Baba, has directed all DIG’S of the various geopolitical zones to go round their zones and boost the morale of the men, which happens to be his main reason for the visit to the command. He advised officers to be proactive, beware of their environment at all times. Never again should they fold their hands and allow miscreants to come and attack them.
“He assured all that modalities have been put in place to ensure that the welfare of the police is improved and that the IGP is determined to see that police officer in the country are motivated”.
Officers present to welcome the DIG included the AIG Zone 5 Headquarters, Benin City, Mr. Isaac Akinmoyede, CP Ari Mohammed Ali, Officers, and men of the command.
CP Ali seized the opportunity to extend the command profound gratitude to IGP Baba who deemed it necessary to deploy personnel to the command during the present predicament through operation restore peace, he said the men deployed have in no small way added to the security architecture of the state.
