Could Amos Be Lukeing To Start His Career Elsewhere?

With a new manager at Tottenham’s helm, the arrival of Jose Mourinho has already been the ignition spark that the club has needed and with the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli firing on all cylinders once again, there is certainly mood for optimism within the white half of North London.

However, although the arrival of the once self-appointed ‘Special One’ is good news for the aforementioned duo and many other of their fellow squad members, it may not be as well-received for some of Tottenham’s younger starlets.

That’s because the former Chelsea manager does not have the best track record when it comes to breaking in young talent and this means that players such as Luke Amos, may now be considering a move to pastures new.

With Amos turning 23 in just a couple of months, there is perhaps a quiet acceptance that his opportunity has already passed for Spurs and one does wonder, just how or when the midfielder will get a real chance to shine.

That said, even at his upcoming age, breaking into the first team and making a place your own, is not outside the realms of possibility. For example, you only need to look at Andros Townsend and the relative late blossoming of his career.

Although, even with the example of Townsend as a beacon of hope, you do wonder if the odds are going to be stacked against Amos and especially when you consider that Jose Mourinho has a multitude of midfield options to currently choose from.

When even the likes of Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele are failing to really make a first team impact just yet (admittedly injuries have halted the progress of the two Summer signings) then it is clear that Amos would have a lot of work to do, in order to move up this particular pecking order.

Work that might end up being an impossible task to complete and even though the dream of being a first team regular at Tottenham has a flicker of hope, the reality is that a move away from the club in one of the next two transfer windows, is most likely on the agenda.
