COVID19: RANGERS EXTEND BREAK BY TWO WEEKS

The management of former Nigeria league champions, Rangers International F.C, ably led by Prince Davidson Owumi, has extended the break given to players of the club by two weeks.

G.M/CEO of the Enugu side said that this move became necessary due to the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic that led to the earlier break given, has not shown any sign of coming to an end.

In an exclusive chat, the former NPL boss and Warri Wolves F.C chairman said that with no information from the ruling football house in the country, NFF, and the continued spread of the Corona virus disease (COVID-19) around the country, there was no reason for the players return but advised that they (Players) continue with the training regiment given by the coach of the side, Salisu Yusuf.

“After a careful study of the health situation that the country is facing which led to the halting of football activities in the first place, management decided to extend the break by two more weeks. However, if there is an improvement in the situation of things and the health and football authorities announces the resumption of all football activities before the end of this extension, the players would be notified,” stated the astute football administrator.

Owumi further said, “We are in constant talks with our players and have continued to encourage them to keep to the training schedules given to them by the coach. I believe that we shall soon overcome the pandemic and get back to the pitch to achieve the expected results this season, by God’ special grace.”

Recall that management had a fortnight ago given a ten days break to the players after NFF suspended all football activities in the country due to the COVID-19 health challenge ravaging the world.
