Create a style for Super Eagles, Sodje urges Rohr

Former Super Eagles defender and ex-international, Sam Sodje has called on handler of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr to create a system for the team that all the players in the team can adapt to and give their best.

Former Charlton Athletic and Notts County of England defender, Sodje in a chat with www.brila.net also added that it will help the players give their best at the AFCON, while the pattern should be implemented during the preparatory matches.

“The main thing is the manager having a system. I have played the game for over 18 years and I know that when you go to a Tournament like that, you should have a system”.

“It depends on the system you want to play as well as the players that fit the system”.

“I believe he has gotten it right by inviting players that fit into the system. Of course, every one of us are coaches, but Rohr will have the last say and with his system, he should select the players that fit into his style”

“At the moment, we have such players and we hope after all said and done, they can perform on the big stage”, he concluded.

The draws of this year’s AFCON will take place on 12 April 2019, on a historic place facing the Sphinx and the Pyramids, near Cairo, Egypt.

The 24 teams will be seeded into 4 pots based on the CAF National Team rankings. The 24 teams will be drawn into t groups of four teams. The hosts Egypt will be seeded in Group A.
