CSP Egbeyemi takes over as RRS boss
CSP Egbeyemi

Chairman Lagos State Task, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has been redeployed to take over from Commander Rapid Response Squad (RRS)DCP Tunji Disu who has been transferred to FCT Abuja.

DCP Tunji Disu, the outgoing commander RRS, is regarded as one of the finest police officers in the force with his exemplary leadership style and mode of policing. His astronomic rise through the ranks of police has been through sheer dint of hard work, loyalty, and dedication.

He has been described as a man of God ‘ as he is policing with the fear of God and a human face.

In every State and unit he served; his presence was felt. His affable nature laced with great skills of communication has helped him to build a cordial relationship with his staff, colleagues, and host communities.

As the year winds up, there has been a major shakeup and redeployment of key officers from the force headquarters with a signal through the office of the Inspector -General of Police. The major shakeup saw the transfer of DCP Tunji Disu from the Lagos State Police Command as the commander of RRS to the force headquarter in Abuja.

The signal has also asked Lagos Task-force Commander, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi to take over as the acting Commander of the RRS unit. The official handover ceremony would take place soon. ‘‘Tunji Disu has raised the bar high redefining the RRS command.

It’s now left for the incoming commander Yinka Egbeyemi to also maintain high standards and level up to his records. We wish Tunji Disu well in his endeavors, most especially, his new posting at the force headquarters in Abuja. I am sure when next he is coming back to Lagos, he is coming back as the Commissioner of Police. A source added.

Another police source who spoke on the condition of anonymity as he was not supposed to speak with the press, said:” The two officers have made their marks in the command. I am not happy that Disu has been transferred out of Lagos. The Police High Command should have given him another posting in Lagos. With him and Egbeyemi in Lagos, I think Lagos State will experience peace. The two men are great men. We have no doubt that Egbeyemi will do well as RRS Commander, judging his performance as DPO in many places and as Chairman, Lagos State Taskforce. But the combination of Disu and Egbeyemi would have favoured the State”.
