Nigeria women must improve in all departments to perform excellently at the 2019 Fifa Women’s World Cup in France, according to coach Thomas Dennerby.
The Super Falcons boss has urged his team to step up if they are to make a huge success in France this summer.
The nine-time African champions finished seventh at the just concluded Cyprus Women’s Cup, rounding off with a 3-0 win over Thailand.
After two wins and two losses, the Swede highlighted some positives from the 12-nation tournament as well as the areas they need to improve on before the summer’s global showpiece.
“It’s been a little bit of up and down as we’ve been very good in periods and weak in some,” Dennerby revealed.
“Overall, we have a really good defence in open play but there is a need to be more stable on set pieces defensively”.
“We also have good quick and counter-attacks but need to work with build up from the midfield to have more variation in attacks”.
The African queens have now played six games so far this year ahead of their preparations for the Women’s World Cup in France and they are expected to regroup early in April.
