Nigeria’s Queen of the tracks, Mary Onyali-Omagbemi has opined ahead of next year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo that current teenage track sensation Divine Oduduru can surely win the country a medal at the Games provided his program is strictly monitored by the AFN, while also helping him to tailor a strong training program ahead of Tokyo 2020.
Oduduru became the fastest man in the planet, at least so far in 2019 when he ran sub-10 over the weekend in a recent invitational, clocking a lifetime best of 9.94 (0.8 m/s), at the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco, Texas couple of months back.
Oduduru has been hugging the headlines recently, and Mary Onyali-Omagbemi in a chat with www.Cornerstonenewsng.comadded that all of Oduduru’s focus at the moment is strictly on his school, to help them compete, and as such, a very strict monitoring should be done on the athlete.
I believe Divine Oduduru can get us a medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, if, with a big If, we start now to monitor his program and guide his training and competition and all his performances. We really need to help him tailor down a very strong program geared towards Tokyo.
The reason why is that he is still a student and all his energy and focus is strictly on his school assignment for him to compete and represent the school, that’s the contract signed by him. That’s his priority. So a very strict monitoring should be done on his welfare, training and general competition.
