Nigeria’s women basketball team Captain Adaora Elonu has stated that D’Tigress is ready for a tough and aggressive match up against Mali ahead of today’s women Afrobasket semi-final.
Elonu speaking in a chat with Cornerstonenewsng.comsaid the match against Mali was a very tough contest considering it been a repeat of the last edition’s semi-final which Nigeria went on to win. She nonetheless said Nigeria will be up to the task regardless. She added that all they need do is to stay true to their identity and maintain the desire to win.
“For the semi-final, we’re just looking at a tough semi-final kind of similar to how it was in 2017. I know the teams are the same but I know the meeting this time will be aggressive and physical we both want to advance to the final and both teams will give their all and as far as Nigeria is concerned, we have to speak to who we are in this tournament so far.”
