Eaglets are ready for Guinea – Baruwa

Nigeria U17 assistant coach Baruwa Olatunji is certain that the future looks promising for the Super Eagles, considering the performance of the Golden Eaglets at the ongoing CAF U-17 Nations Cup in Tanzania.

The Manu Garba tutored-side qualified for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil and the semis of the CAF U17 Nations Cup after battling Uganda’s Cubs to a 1-1 draw at the Chamazi Stadium on Saturday.

”You know Nigeria is a football country and we have very talented players, some of them are here and we should be expecting this team to be the future Super Eagles,” Olatunji stated.

He added: ”We have qualified for the World Cup, that one has already been accomplished, the second is Guinea. We have seen how they play and we are going to approach them, we’ll make sure we try not to concede a goal.”

The Golden Eaglets face Guinea at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam in the first semifinal match of the 2019 U17 Cup of Nations on Wednesday.

“We have watched them and we have seen how they play. We play total football, power to power. We are very ready to match them, it is not about being physical,” the former Osun United goalkeeper trainer concluded.
