4 Reasons to Wait for the 2018 MacBook & 4 Reasons Not To

4 Reasons to Wait for the 2018 MacBook & 4 Reasons Not To is a post by Josh Smith from Gotta Be Mobile.

The 2018 MacBook is coming soon. Apple has not confirmed the release, but every year like clockwork there is a new MacBook. This guide covers why you should wait for the 2018 MacBook with a 12-inch screen and why you might not want to wait for a new model.

If you are planning to buy a MacBook, your options are to buy the current 2017 MacBook with a 12-inch screen or to wait for the 2018 MacBook to see what Apple has to offer. The good news is we have a good idea of what Apple plans to add, you shouldn’t have to wait too much longer.

That said, there is a bigger reason than normal to wait, as Apple may be bringing a budget 13-inch MacBook to the mix this year. Apple supports notebooks for a long time, so even if you buy the current model, you can expect software updates for years.

For a lot of users the 2017 MacBook is still worth buying in 2018, but there are more reasons to wait for the 2018 MacBook release date than there are reasons to buy a new 12-inch MacBook today.

Here are the Reasons to Wait for the 2018 MacBook;

  1. The 2018 MacBook Release Date is Close
  2. Wait for Better Performance
  3. Wait for Better Battery Life
  4. Wait to See if the 13-inch MacBook is a Better Fit

Keep reading for a closer look at the latest 2018 MacBook rumors and why you shouldn’t wait for the 2018 MacBook with a 12-inch screen;

  1. Don’t Wait if you Need a MacBook Now
  2. Don’t Wait for a New MacBook Design
  3. Don’t Wait for a MacBook with More Ports
  4. Don’t Wait for MacBook Deals

2018 MacBook Rumors

So far the 2018 MacBook rumors are sparse. We expected to see a new model in June at WWDC, but that didn’t happen. Bloomberg reports that Apple is planning a 2018 MacBook release for the fall.

Apple is working on custom chips called co-processors that work alongside the Intel processor. Bloomberg reports that at least three models will come with updated T co-processors this year. So far the co-processors are in the MacBook Pro and the iMac Pro, but we should see this tech in new laptops this year. One of these could be the 12-inch MacBook.
