Super Eagles assistant Captain, William Troost-Ekong has congratulated the players who debuted for Nigeria against Algeria on Friday.
Players like Zaidu Sanusi, Frank Onyeka, Kevin Akpoguma, midfielder Tijani Samson and Cyriel Dessers appeared in the colours of Nigeria for the first time in the game against Algeria.
Ekong wore the captain armband before the introduction of Ahmed Musa who also made his 92nd appearance for Nigeria.
The Watford defender is gutted by the result of the encounter, but happy for the new boys who made their bow for the team.
“Not the result we wanted. But a good fighting spirit from the boys. Congrats to the ones who made their debut last night,” he said.
Ekong and his compatriots will be back in action on Tuesday, they take on the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.
