Enyimba boss Usman Abd’Allah said he is optimistic that his side can overturn thier one goal deficit when the meet Burkina Faso’s Rahimo in the return leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League next weekend in Aba.

The Nigerian champions suffered a 1-0 defeat at the Stade 4 Aout de Ouagadougou last weekend and need at least two unreplied goals in the return fixture,  if they are to proceed into the next phase.

Abd’Allah however told the media that his boys has put the disapointting first leg result behind them and are ready to go all out and get the needed results next weekend .

“The first leg result didn’t go in our favour but we must remain very hopeful that we are going back home to look at what we did wrong and how to correct them,” Abd’Allah said.

“It was a very tough game but we committed some mistakes that we should have avoided. We also missed some few chances we had. We must play at our best in the second leg. I know that if we do that, we should be able to surmount them.

“It was our first real test since the conclusion of last season. We should be ready for the second leg.”

Enyimba are looking to win the competition for the third time in their history,  haven won the prestigeous tournament back in 2003 and 2004 respectively.
