Enyimba of Aba midfielder Dayo Ojo has stated that the team has learnt from their early exit from the CAF Champions league and will hope to avoid the same mistake when they take on TS Galaxy in the Confederations Cup this weekend.
The People’s Elephants played out a goalless draw with Sudanese side Al Hilal and went down 1-0 in the return fixture week later.
The result eliminated the two time African champions from Champions league, but dropped them to the second CAF elites competition.
The Usman Abdallah’s side are now looking to make up for their disappointing exit from the Champions league by going all the way in the Confederations Cup and standing in their way for a place in the group stage of the tournament is South African second division side TS Galaxy.
Ojo has now stated that the team will finish the job in Aba in order to avoid a complicated second leg in South Africa.
“We are going to finish the job in Aba and go to South Africa just to enjoy ourselves,” Ojo said.
“Our inability to get a good home result against Al Hilal in the Champions League affected us, we don’t want the same to repeat itself against TS Galaxy.” he said.
Ojo joined Enyimba this summer after a successful spell with Sunshine Star of Akure.
