Super Eagles goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has vowed to make Nigeria proud as he flew out on Monday night for the international friendly match against Poland on Friday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Speaking before his departure on Monday night, the Enyimba goalkeeper said he was looking forward to playing against the European side ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
He said he is fit and ready for the challenge.
“I am happy to be part of the team and I must say that I will try my best to make Nigeria proud,” the former FC IfeanyiUbah goalkeeper told CSN.
“I must also thank coach Rohr for the confidence he has in me.”
Ezenwa, who played a key role in the Super Eagles qualification for the World Cup and was part of the team that represented Nigeria at the 2018 African Nations Championship in Morocco, added: “It will be a good experience for me to play against Poland and that will also help other players to prepare well.”
After Friday’s match, the Super Eagles will on March 27 face Serbia in another friendly match ahead of the World Cup.
