Favour Ofili, Patience Okon-George fail to reach women’s 400m final in Doha

2019 African Games silver medalist, Favour Ofili failed to advance to the finals of the women’s 400m race at the ongoing 2019 IAAF in Doha, Qatar.

 

The Nigerian who set a new personal best of 51.51secs after finishing third in heat four to qualify for semifinal placed sixth in heat 1 to miss out in the final.

 

Meanwhile, her compatriot Patience Okon-George who finished among the six fastest times to qualify for the semifinal stage of the event also failed to reach the final after finishing sixth in heat 3.

 

The news is a major blow for the West Africans who are still awaiting their first medal of the championship.
