Gombe Bulls Guard Ibe Abuchi Agu has told Cornerstonenewsng.comthat he’ll join the D’Tigers World Cup camp in Abidjan on February 19 ahead of the team’s final FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
Abuchi was one of two (Buchi Nwaiwu) late decisions by Alex Nwora after Ike Nwamu and Obekpa Christopher withdrew from the team owing to club engagement and administrative issues, as per Team Manager Adamu Musa.
A surprise inclusion, Abuchi, who will debut for Nigeria in Abidjan, was one of the most improved player on the home front last season and reached the final of last year’s Sports Festival.
Nigeria will open their pain against Ivory Coast (22 Feb.), then take on Central African Republic (23 Feb.) and Senegal (24 Feb.) all at the Palais des Sports.
