Former Falcons Coach backs misfiring-Asisat Oshoala to deliver Goals

Asisat Oshoala’s struggles in front of goal at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana continued on Wednesday, but former Coach of the team Christopher Danjuma believes the striker will deliver.

Nigeria walloped Zambia 4-0 in their second group B match at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium and though she worked off her socks for the duration, Asisat was also wasteful in front of goal.

The striker, who was top scorer in the tournament two years ago, missed as several, clear goalscoring chances.

In his post-mortem of the match, Danjuma told Cornerstonenewsng.comit is important to keep the Striker on the pitch and help build her confidence as she’s certain to come good.

“Some of the moves and most of the goals came from Asisat Oshoala. The one that Ajibade scored she delivered, the one that was square played for Oparanozie which came back to Ordega to finish was also from Asisat Oshoala.

“Yes, trying to score she didn’t get her feet well, but now she’s giving good assists. You keep here there, give her more confidence and I’m telling you, she’ll deliver. Even though she did not get goals, I think her assists were perfect,” said Danjuma.
