Former Kano Pillars Power Forward and 2018 All Star, Abdu Yahaya has revealed he turned down an offer to leave Nigeria and play abroad, despite the impasse in the Nigerian Premier Basketball league.
Yahaya, who left Pillars to join Rivers Hoopers for the Africa Basketball League, said he was contacted by a representative and offered a blank cheque.
However, the Vet told Cornerstonenewsng.comthat he turned down the offer because it did not feel right.
‘Somebody called me to come and play division one for him, that he wants to win and he knows if I play for him, He’ll win.
‘Just me alone to win, that he will pay me any amount I want; just like that.But it doesn’t make much sense, because it didn’t feel right.’
