Former Sunshine stars striker Sasere happy with Europa league debut

Franklin Sasere says he’s happy to make his Europa League debut for Swiss side Lugano on Thursday.

The former Sunshine Stars of Akure forward came on as a second-half replacement for Marco Aratore, as Nicolaj Thomsen’s 27th-minute strike secured a vital win for Copenhagen on Thursday.

However, Sasere who played for twenty minutes took to his social media handle to express his happiness for making his debut in the prestigious competition.

“Past years, I will be sitting down on the couch on a Thursday night waiting for the big @EuropaLeague games to kick off.”

“But it’s kinda different this week Thursday. Instead of me sitting at home watching. I’m on action while people sitting watching on the big screen ” he twitted.

Sasere will hope to record his second appearance in the competition when Lugano travel to Dynamo Kyiv on December 12 in a dead rubber game at the NSC Olimpiyskiy in Kiev.
