Four key things You need to know about Solomon Dalung’s Successor, Sunday Dare

Veteran Journalist Sunday Dare has been appointed, by President Muhammadu Buhari, as Sports Minister, replacing Solomon Dalung, who served in the position for four years.

The appointment of Dare Sunday was confirmed on Wednesday:

 

Until his current designation, the 53 year-old, held no prior administrative position in Sports.

Sunday Dare has over two decade of journalism experience spanning over 25 years before 2016 when he was appointed as Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

 

He served as the Chief of Staff / Special Adviser on media to former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

 

He was appointed Senior Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister of Information and Communications.

 

He served as Chief, Hausa Service, African Division at Voice of America (VOA) in Washington, DC between 2001 to 2009.
