No fraudster, cultist policeman in my command — AIG Adeleke

The Assistant Inspector- General of Police in-charge of Zone 2 Police Command, AIG Adeleke Adeyinka Bode, has said that there was no officer who has been discovered to be a member of internet fraud syndicate (Yahoo-Yahoo) or Cult group in his command.

The AIG , in-charge of Lagos and Ogun states police commands, was reacting to a media report which went viral that he admitted that some of his men and officers, in Ogun State Command were members of Yahoo Yahoo and cult group.
In a statement by Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, SP Hauwa Idris -Adamu, stated that,
“It has become very imperative for the Command to clear the air, and set the records straight on the news being circulated. The command under the watch of AIG Bode ,wishes to inform the general public that the news was false and erroneously published as the AIG never had any conversation with any journalist during his visit to Ogun State police command, so the AIG was quoted in error .
“In the in-house lecture, he had with officers and men of Ogun State Command, on July 28, 2022; no such statement was made;the AIG,only charged officers and men of the command not to get involved in such practices (i.e. Cultism, internet fraud and other social vices); to be more dedicated to duty, respect the rule of law and be civil to members of the public, and to eschew all forms of corrupt practices.

“Members of the public are therefore, urged to disregard the erroneous publication being circulated as no such statement was made by the AIG and there is no such practice in the Nigeria Police,as anyone found doing such will be made to face the full wrath of the law”.
