Fulani herdsmen kill 5o in kogi

Benue: Herdsmen displace 200,000 students, teachers, others

Fulani herdsmen Wednesday invaded Oganeinuga community in Dekina Local government area of Kogi state killing over 50 persons.

As at press time,the people were still counting their losses, meaning that the casualty figure may increase. Many indigenes have fled to neighbouring communities where they are taking refuge.

It was gathered that a family of six was wiped out by the killer herdsmen who aattacked the community with guns and other dangerous weapons.

A witness ,John Okoba ,told Cornerstone news that :”The herdsmen attacked us from different angles .They had organized the attack perfectly as they stormed five villages at the same time.It was difficult for us to escape,because, they attacked us from all angles.They set houses on fire and as you run out,you would be shot.

” I cannot tell you the actual casualties because, we are still counting our losses. For now ,over 50 corpses have been recovered. This morning ,four bodies have been recovered in the bush.

The government should so something urgent or the killer herdsmen will wipe out our community. That is their game plan”.
