Ghana have defeated Benin Republic to set up a second round match up against Nigeria in the 2022 African Nations Championship qualifiers.
The Ghana Black Stars eased past Benin 4-0 on aggregate – winning 3-0 in at the Cape Coast Stadium and 1-0 at the weekend in Cotonou.
Meanwhile, Nigeria was drawn bye in the first round of the WAFU Zone B qualification group for the 2022 CHAN, awaiting the winner of the Ghana vs Benin Rep. tie.
Along side Ivory Coast, Togo, Niger and Burkina Faso the CHAN Super Eagles will now battle for three tickets from the Zone to reach the tournament proper in Algeria.
In the first leg of the encounter against their arch rivals, the Eagles will play away in yet to be decided date this August.
The second leg of the tie is scheduled to hold in Nigeria, but in September.
African Nations Championship is a football tournament for players based in the National leagues of their countries and the competition biennial.
Its 7th edition will hold in Algeria through January 8-31.
