Glik: Poland Didn’t Deserve To Lose To Nigeria

AS Monaco defender, Kamil Glik has rued Poland’s missed chances in Friday’s 1-0 loss against Nigeria in an international friendly game played in Wroclaw.

Glik who featured in the encounter admitted after the game that his side didn’t deserve to lose having created more scoring chances but hopes the defeat will serve as a lesson for the team ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

“It is never good to lose, I do not like to lose even a training game, let alone a match,” Glik told sport.se.pl.

We did not deserve the defeat, but there is no justice in football. We did not take advantage of our situation, they used half the chance they created.

“I hope this lesson will be useful. I will say immodestly, but especially in defense, we managed.

Glik also added that the Polish team won’t be swayed by Super Eagles team’s performance when they come up against African World Cup group foes Senegal.

There is nothing to compare Nigeria to Senegal, it will be two different stories. The first match at the World Cup, the big party, our team will look completely different than in the match with Nigeria.”

Victor Moses scored the winner in the 61st minute for Nigeria from the penalty spot after a minimal contact with Polish defender Marcin Kaminski in the box.
